THE WINERY

The Caldera company, conducted by Fabrizia Caldera and her husband Roberto Rossi, continues a story passed down for four generations. It is linked to tradition and to the territory, attentive to the modern evolution of the market and been increasingly drawn to quality proposals.

The vineyards are located in Portacomaro, Agliano, Vigliano and Costigliole d’Asti.

The selection of the best grapes from vineyards of old plant (between 30 and 50 years old), a production quantitatively low (in many cases less than 50 quintals per hectare), and the thinning out of bunches in the years most prolific; contribute to raise the quality.

All wines are made from grapes in purity, because the company prefers not confuse tastes, on the contrary research the peculiarity of the product. All this would not be enough to increase the value of wines, if not using modern technologies (cold stabilization, sterile bottling by microfiltration). Also the help of the competent friend Mr. Mario Redoglia, an expert winemaker from Asti, is essential for the company because he controls the agronomic part in the vineyard.

The ancient large cellar, with private parking in the courtyard in front, is located in Portacomaro Station, easy to reach by following the sign that faces the Asti-Casale state road.
It has, among other things, a large room with an elegant "exposed" brick ceiling that houses the refinement of the most important wines in botti grandi and small (oak) barriques.
The selection of the best grapes, coming from old plant vineyards (between 30 and 50 years old) it guarantees a quantitatively low production (in many cases less than 50 quintals per hectare), eccentuate pruning and appropriate bunches of bunches in the most prolific years, contribute to raising the quality.

All wines are obtained from the vine in purity, because the company believes to be more characterized not confusing tastes and looking for the typicality of the product.
They contribute to obtain high quality wines appreciated for years both in Italy and abroad, even modern technologies.

The production and refinement of the wines are followed by the famous Asti winemaker Mario Redoglia, an expert winemaker, who also carefully controls the agronomic part in the vineyard.
